Who is responsible for your data

What data we ask for

If you send us a message from a property's page, we keep your name, your phone number, your email if you give it, your message, the property you are interested in, the date and time, and the IP address and browser you sent it from. We use the IP address to stop abusive sending.

If you create an email alert (new listings for a search, or “Tell me if the price drops” on a property), we keep your email address, the search or property you chose, the frequency, the date and time, the IP address and browser you created it from, and which emails we sent you and when. The alert starts only once you confirm your address from the link we send you.

The site's other forms keep nothing: they write a WhatsApp message that you decide whether to send. If you message us on WhatsApp, call or email, we receive your number or address and whatever you tell us.

What we use it for

So that the agent who publishes the property can answer you and arrange the viewing, and to follow up on your search if you ask us to.

To send you the alerts you asked for, and nothing else: we don't use your address for any other mailing. Every email has a link to change, pause or delete your alerts, and another to unsubscribe in one click.

For our statistics and market studies, as the next section explains.

We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Market data

The prices, medians and real estate market studies casa.bo publishes are calculated from the listings' data (price, area, property type, zone).

To understand demand we also analyze the messages we receive: which properties, zones, types and prices people are interested in, when they write, from which country or city, and which part of the site they use. These analyses are internal or published only as overall figures: we never publish your name, your number, your email or your message.

Who we share it with

With the agent who publishes the property you are interested in, who is the one who answers you. The agent may share with their agency or the owner only what is needed to arrange a viewing.

With the services we use to run the site, such as the server that hosts it, Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), which sends the alert emails, and Google (Google Analytics), which measures how the site is used, as explained in «Analytics and cookies». When you write on WhatsApp, that conversation is also governed by WhatsApp's terms.

How long we keep it

We keep the messages you send us from a property's page with no fixed time limit, to help you and for our statistics.

Alerts you don't confirm are deleted 7 days after we send you the email to confirm them; if we haven't been able to send it yet, we keep the alert for up to 30 days. If you unsubscribe, your address and your alerts' IP address are deleted after 30 days; with “Delete my alerts and my email”, on your alerts page, they are deleted at once.

Messages we discard (spam, tests or messages sent by mistake) lose their personal data after 30 days. The server's backups are renewed every two weeks.

If you ask us to delete your data, we delete it (see “Your rights”). The record of your message may stay, with nothing that identifies you, only for counting.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics, by Google, to learn how many people visit the site, which pages they view, which country or city and what kind of device they come from, and which buttons they use: opening WhatsApp, calling, sending a message, saving a favorite or creating an alert. That tells us what to improve.

Google Analytics stores casa.bo cookies in your browser (_ga and _ga_…), for up to 2 years, to recognize a returning visit. We don't send Google your name, phone number, email or what you type in forms, and we remove your alerts' personal links from the addresses we send it. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.

We don't turn on Google Analytics' advertising features (Google Signals or ad personalization): we don't use this data for advertising. Only we see the reports, and the detail of each visit is deleted after 14 months.

If you don't want your visit measured, you can block casa.bo's cookies in your browser or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your favorites and the properties you have already opened from the map are stored only on your device, in your browser's storage, and never reach us. The map loads its images from OpenFreeMap, a map service based on OpenStreetMap.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it or ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] or on WhatsApp at +591 6450 0374: we answer Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 20:00 (Bolivia time).
